How to get to SFU (with links to bus routes)

Directions to Dr. Brinkman's office:

Note: During Shrum Science Centre Construction (until ~2011), use the following directions from the Academic Quadrangle (AQ) to get to my office. See below though for further directions to get to campus and the AQ by bus/car:

From the south side of the AQ down the hall labelled "B - Biology" wing of the Shrum Sciences Centre (SSC), continue down that hall till you come to doors and stairs. Go down one flight of the stairs and continue down this hall way in the same direction (south), past the Biology departmental office (you can always ask for directions to the Biology office if you need help getting to this point). Continue straight down a winding hallway that is signed as going to the South Science Building. You should reach the end of the hallway at the T-junction. Turn right to go into the South Science Building (you have to go down 4 or so steps to get to this). Proceed down the hall (west) until you come to an open area with open stairway right in front of the MBB departmental office. Go down one flight of the stairs such that you end up on the 7th floor of the South Science Building. Turn right at the bottom of that set of stairs to go down the hallway (heading north). My office is just past the men's washroom on the left side - room SSB7110. If you have any problems finding me, just call me in my office at 778 782 5646.

Bus:
If you get off at the first stop on campus, walk east, heading up some stairs, and go through Convocation Mall (see map). Enter the Academic Quadrangle (AQ) and head south (right), going up one set of stairs. You should be right near the entrance of the Chemistry wing of the Shrum Science Centre. Walk south down this chemistry wing until you reach some major doors and stairs. Go down two flights of stairs and continue south - the office is in that hallway on the right, just after you enter the South Science Building. Room 7110.
Driving directions from UBC:

Take 10th, which turns into 12th, which turns into the Granview Highway. Shortly after you cross Boundary, continue straight, taking the obvious Trans-Canada Highway (Highway 1) going east. Get off at the Gaglardi Way exit 37 and go north (the only way you can go!) on Gaglardi Way. Keeping going straight (in a curvy sort of way) until you end up at SFU. It takes about 45 minutes to an hour to drive door to door.
Parking:
- If you have a parking pass at UBC, you can park for free in the SFU parkade.
- If you have cash, you can park at the parkade.
- If you have no cash, you can use a credit card at the east pay parking
- If we are paying for parking right near our building for you, see the directions below.
Driving to the parkade and directions to the office from there:
Drive to the parkade parking noted as one of the green dots on the map (green dot furthest west). Go up a set of stairs, usually two or three flights are required, and then walk east and go through Convocation Mall (see map). Room 7110.
Driving to east pay parking and directions to the office:

Drive to the visitor parking underlined in the map (far east site of campus), or the other "green dot" noted nearby on this map. Walk west down the main walkway to the Academic Quadrangle (AQ) and through its main square, over a pond. Go to the southwest corner of the AQ and go down one set of stairs and enter in the AQ building. You should be right near the entrance of the Chemistry wing of the Shrum Science Centre. Walk south down this chemistry wing until you reach some major doors and stairs. Go down two flights of stairs and continue south - the office is in that hallway on the right, just after you enter the South Science Building. Room 7110.
Driving to guest parking if we are paying:
See SFU map. From Gaglardi Way, turn off onto South Campus Road and turn left just before the South Science Building. You can park there at a small lot (about 6 parking spots) on the west side of the South Science Building. The MBB office will give you a special parking permit for this (remind me to get this for
you!). You can enter the South Science Building from there. Go down the hall to a central stairway in the middle of the building in an open-concept area. Go up one floor and turn right (north). My office is Rm 7110, down that hall on your left.
